Past Harms, Future Visions
Objective: In this studio, we are collaborating with members of North Braddock Residents For Our Future (NBRFOF)—a grassroots organization challenging unconventional shale gas extraction and pollution in the towns of Braddock, North Braddock, East Pittsburgh, and North Versailles. We are developing original drawings, mappings, timelines, videos, and other visual materials to document how residents resist extractive and toxic processes while envisioning urban futures. (This is an ongoing project.)
Process: Community Research -> Meet with Community Members -> Conduct Interviews -> Visualize Community’s Visions
Software Used: ArcGIS, Photoshop, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Illustrator, InDesign, Miro
